- Introductions
- Principal's Report
- New integrated preschool program for 3 and 4 year olds was explained.
- New kindergarten legislation for Sept. 2004, child must be 5 by date of entry to school.
- After school dismissal to be revised in order to load students more quickly. Parent pick up is by the cafe stage, parents should enter through door closest to that area and exit the opposite side of stage.
- SALT co-ord. appointed to Melville for Dec. visit.
- NAEYC accreditation visit TBD.
- Grades close Oct. 30 to accommodate parent conferences Nov. 5
- New Standards scores will be shared on Report night, Oct. 17
- Fall Festival
- Help sought for silent auction. Meetings just for Fall Festival: Oct. 9 & 23, 7 pm.
- Sally Foster Fundraiser
- Ice Cream Social
- Wonderful turnout, great organization. Noted to order more ice cream for next year to meet the demand.
6.Funding Request
- Lisa Levine requested $588 to buy new gymnastic vault board. Motion made to purchase the equipment, cost not to exceed $600. Motion approved.
7.Playground
- United Way requested volunteers from Melville to help review current grant proposal. Dates Oct. 8, 29 and Nov. 7
- Reminder that anyone can donate to MPTG through United Way program by writing Melville Parent Teacher Group.
