- state assessments have been moved to March
(April in the past) in order to meet federal timetables
- explanation of professional development
funding for Melville and what's involved to maintain certification and
implement best practice
- funding requests for several teachers to
attend conferences presented
- requests for subsidizing the registration
fees for Lessons That Change Writers and Educating All Kinds
Of Minds were approved
4. Playground
- grading for the field done, trucking fee to be
submitted to deliver topsoil
- hydroseeding after 4/15
- quote needed for new fencing in back of
playground
- trees need to be removed in lower left corner,
volunteer group will undertake in spring
5. Treasurer Report
- made our budget estimate
for fall fundraisers
6. Movie Nights
- great Jan. attendance
- Feb. 14 next movie
- discussion of getting new sound system as the
St. Peter's have been setting up theirs, after research a request will be
submitted
7. Upcoming events
- Touch-A-Truck - idea for spring fundraiser -
volunteers bring vehicles, families are charged a fee to be able to
get close and personal with the "trucks"
- Pot Luck Dinner March 7 - Mary Pat Komm will
organize
