- School Committee has been updated on playground status
- Presentation to be made to Town Council, asking for money to complete playground this year
- United Way/Citizen's Bank grant awarded to Melville specifically to create linking pathways for the playground
7. Principal's Update
- Letter from State Dept. of Ed. regarding Melville SALT visit states that the SALT report will not be released or recorded due to team irregularities and confidentiality issues
- When or how of another visit not determined yet
- Report cards Jan. 31, parent meeting for grades 2 & 3 to explain Stanford test scores will be Feb. 7(gr. 2) and 12(gr.3)
- After school tutoring for grades 3 & 4 begins after Feb. vacation
- Workshops for parents and teachers on inclusion will be in March
- Pre-1 status - probably gone for next year
8. Letter read from Ms. Adler requesting volunteers for special needs art class
9. Committee for Future Spending formed
- Purpose: prioritize goals already generated and set procedures for granting requests
- Members: Jay Melillo, chair, Lisa Lafleur and Emily Copeland, teachers needed
10. Pennies for Playground
- Changed to another fundraiser to be determined, sentiment favored selling inscribed bricks and donations for landscape items
11. Fourth Grade Newspaper
- $250 already allotted but more needed to cover printing and field trip
- Additional $200 approved
12. Movie Night
- Feb. 15 - MVPII or Atlantis
13. 25 dollars approved for art supplies for MPTG meetings
