Please note, I have only just begun to create this page. More will be added as time goes by.
A brief introduction:
my origin: Springfield, MA, USA, December 9, 1954.
my intellectual beginnings: Wesleyan University, Middletown CT.
my ancestry
: Polish on all sides, but both parents were born in the U.S.A.
my career:
theoretical physicist, specializing in mesoscopic and lower dimensional systems, transport, Coulomb blockade, self-consistent electronic structure of quantum dots and classical transport in biological channels.
my interests (fun)
: Clubs with dancing and nightlife, especially What the Dickens , a fabulous spot in Ebisu, the ever popular Gaspanic II  (if you want to stay young), and The Fiddler in Takadanobaba  (a little cramped, but an interesting regular crowd). Also, I love listening to live jazz music, of which there is much to be found in Tokyo. A couple good places are Sometime in Kichijoji (link requires Japanese browser capability...unless you can navigate through random characters) and Pearl Bar in Shinjuku.
my interests (more serious):
I like playing full court basketball and other competitive sports. I like swimming (I used to do the 200 m butterfly in college). I like drawing, mostly portraits. I like photography and I just bought a new MZ-7 Pentax. I play guitar, but I am rusty, I play flute, but I am even rustier. I like movies and my favorite director is Peter Weir.
my interests (really serious): Politics, particularly libertarian philosphy. The philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. I am deeply interested in the structure of Japanese society and even more so in the psychology of Japanese people in comparison to Westerners.
