5.1.05 - MPL had a strong presence at The Stadium Saturday night, tallying a total of 96 runs in 3 games. Things took a turn for the worse on Sunday, however; We were 10 runned every game. As a result, we are now imposing a strict curfew.

5.5.05 - MPL continued its league winning streak, with a huge ten-run victory over arch rivals, The Yahoos. Chico had a particularly good day at the plate.

5.11.05 - Site updates: New home page, JERSYS section, and Tourney at Stadium Sat

5.29.05 - The Lounge had a rough Tourney at BeBop's this weekend, winning only one game. They were struggling to pick up the pieces after the huge loss of 1st baseman Joe Tossey. Tossey is listed as questionable for next week.

On a positive note, Tony Escobedo became the first recipient of the MPL "Golden Mug Award", after a stellar Thursday evening performance. Special thanks to Ben Paul for aquiring the trophy.

6.6.05 - The Lounge found the ol' Sunday Curse to be in full effect this weekend at the Cut's Classic in Oakdale. MPL started strong, winning 3 straight on Saturday. But on a warm Sunday morning, the team from the day before was no where to be found (Some players didn't even show up). The team lost 2 barn burners in a row, and went home hardware-less in a Tourney that could have easily been won.

6.10.05 - Undefeated and still heavyweight champion of the Men's Class D Slowpitch Softball League at Goodrich.....The Mounds Park Lounge!

The Lounge hopes to Make an impact this weekend at the Miller Lite Tournament in Oakdale. A flawless performance is needed to atone for last week's dismal display.

Golden Mug winner: "Buff" Bradley - went 4 for 5 with some clutch at bats.

There have been reports of a Golden Mug theft!

Suspect has been described as wearing a red softball jersey, and may or may not resemble Punky Brewster. A $50,000 reward is being offered for any info leading to the mug's safe return. All thieves will be regulated.

6.23.05 - The Lounge takes on the Yahoo's this Thursday at 9. Be there, and witness the force that is...MPL Softball.

The Lounge plans to participate in the Summerfest Tourny at Oakdale this weekend, where hopefully, some beautiful weather will provide a good time for all. The cold beer will be flowing profusely.

6.28.05- Word on the street is that the MPL Sunday curse has been broken. MPL was 1-1 on Saturday at the Oakdale Summerfest tourney. On Sunday, however, the boys woke up early to begin a 3 game winning streak, the first 3 Sunday wins of the year. The Lounge eventually lost to Team Lenny Biagini.

7.3.05- The Lounge had a great weekend at The Stadium, narrowly missing the big money first place prize. MPL ended up taking a respectable 2nd place, short of 1st by only 2 allowed runs.

The Golden Mug (which has been recovered) easily goes to Matt "Poopy" Vellieux. Poop had a tremendous weekend at the plate, hitting just shy of perfect, and totaling 5 home runs in six games.

7.8.05- MPL still undefeated in league - what's new? We can't be touched. Only a couple league games remain...
