********* Republic Airlines (Old Colors) Boeing 727-2M7(A) *********

Original design by: Bill Alderson
Republic Airlines repaint by: Michael Pickney

File last updated on 11/15/98

Republic Airlines was formed in 1979 when North Central Airlines and
Southern Airways merged. In 1980 Hughes Airwest was also absorbed
into Republic. This aircraft, N723RW (fleet number 763) represents
one of eighteen 727-200 series aircraft that were operated by the
airline and one of eight 727-2M7 aircraft that were acquired in the
merger with Hughes Airwest (thus the RW in the registration number).
Republic Airlines was eventually merged into Northwest Airlines in
1986.

Features:

* Night	lighted passenger windows.
* Landing light definition file included (LLADD program required).
* Optional FS color palette for accurate color rendition.

Installation:

1. Unzip all files to a temporary directory. Then...

FS5:

1. Copy the Rc7272v1.air file to your FS5 Pilots folder.
2. Copy the texture files Rc7272v1.0af thru Rc7272v1.9af to your FS5
Textures folder.

FSFW95 or FS98:

1. Use the Microsoft Aircraft and Adventure Converter for either FSFW95
or FS98 to convert the files.

Note:

This aircraft converts extremely well to FS98. It looks best in 3D full
screen mode with MIP mapping turned off.

FSFS LIMITS:

For this aircraft, we have modified the palette to give proper
coloration. The default FSFS palette is very limited and does not
include certain colors, such as pink and purple.

To install this palette:

1. Rename and backup your current FS5.PAL (located in your \fs__\
   texture directory)
2. Copy KT_PALET.PAL into your \fs__\texture directory
3. Rename KT_PALET.PAL to FS5.PAL (for ALL versions of FS, 5.0 and up.)
4. Rename and backup your current FS5.HAZ (located with FS5.PAL)
5. Copy KT_PALET.HAZ into your \fs__\texture directory
6. Rename KT_PALET.HAZ to FS5.HAZ

To uninstall this palette:
1. Rename FS5.PAL in your \fs__\texture directory to KT_PALET.PAL
2. Rename FS5.HAZ in your \fs__\texture directory to KT_PALET.HAZ
3. Copy your backed-up FS5.PAL & FS5.HAZ (you DID back them up,
didn't you?) to your \fs__\texture directory. Make sure they are
   named FS5.PAL and FS5.HAZ respectively.

There have been changes to default building colors as a result - an
example is in the FS98 Las Vegas scenery, where the terminal building
at McCarran becomes pink. Some of the office buildings at Chicago
reflect this too. The Microsoft Broadf.R8 texture (broad leaves in
fall) is also affected. These changes are a byproduct of the palette
change and cannot be overcome.

The pink/purple color sequence is copyrighted 1997 Kevin Trinkle. The
revised blue color scheme is copyrighted Carlos Coimbra, 1995.
KT_PALET.PAL may not be sold on any CD or disk. If you wish to use it
in your aircraft, please contact me at trinkle@flash.net.
