FILE NAME: J31USAv3.ZIP

BRITISH AEROSPACE JETSTREAM 31 US AIR EXPRESS VERSION 3
Microsoft Flight Sim 5.1 Aircraft

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
CREDITS AND LEGAL STUFF:

This ZIP file contains all of the necessary files for the BAe JETSTREAM
31 aircraft for use with Microsoft Flight Simulator v 5.1 (FS5).

This aircraft was created using B.A.O.'S Flight Simulator Flight Shop
v. 5. You must have this program installed on your computer in order to
use this aircraft, unless you are now running Flight Sim 6.0 for Windows
95, and have used their conversion utility to convert the file.

This aircraft is a new release for this particular livery, and is based
on the third flight model for this design.

Improvements include:

   a. A more accurate flight model with improved stability and ease
       of flight.
   b. New visual model with more detailed and accurate wing structure,
engines, wheels, new 2 piece fuselage, and more night effects.

NOTE:

Some of the files that you will soon see posted will have the
designation J31XXXv3. Although this might be the initial release
of the J31 in this particular paint scheme, I have still given
the file a "version 3" designation because the version 3 flight
model was the core design for the bird. I don't want to confuse
anyone....just my system to keep track of all of the various
    designs out there!

This aircraft was designed & constructed by Gerry L. Watkins (Maverick),
1st Captain SimAir Airlines, Chico, CA., and co-designer (or should that
by co-designeress? <G> Susan Anne Benner (Mav's Girl).

My Special thanks to:

Mike Vidal for assistance with the earlier release flight dynamics.

Al Pelletier at Comox Valley flight Sim Stopover for flight testing.

United Express flight crews (Chico Base) for input and advice.

Matt Josefczyk for the excellent photos that allowed me to create
  this version of the J31.

Dennis J. London for assistance in flight testing.

Robert MacKay and Microwings for allowing me to post my aircraft to
  their site.

All of the Flight Simmers that took the time to write and give me all of
the compliments and excellent advice (You know who you are <G>).

Other airline organizations are certainly welcome to use the aircraft
as part of their livery. Drop me a note.

PACKING LIST:

Files included in this ZIP file are:

   J31USAv3.AIR Aircraft Flight Characteristics File.
   J31USAv3.TXT This Readme file.
   J31USAv3.0AF to
   J31USAv3.9AF Aircraft Texture Files.
PROP2.WAV The Turboprop Sound File for users with sound cards.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
FS5.1 FLIGHT INSTRUCTIONS:

To use the aircraft with Microsoft's FS5.1, you must have B.A.O.'s
Flight Shop installed on your system. This will properly read the .AIR
file:

  1. Extract the archived package using PKUNZIP.

  2. Copy J31USAv3.AIR to your FS5/Pilots Directory.

  3. Copy J31USAv3.0AF - J31USAv3.9AF to your FS5\Texture Directory.

  4. After starting FS5.1, call up your Aircraft Library Mode window
by hitting "Options", and then "Aircraft".

  4. Select the file entitled BAE JETSTREAM 31USAv3 US AIR EXPRESS
         (the "J31USAv3.AIR file).
If you don't see this file listed in the first group of five
aircraft, simply scroll through the list to see it.

  5. If you have a sound card, such as the Sound Blaster, or Sound
Blaster Pro, you can use the file entitled PROP2.WAV to hear the
real sound of the turboprops rather that the default JET1.WAV
file that came with MSFS 5.1.

First, find your original JET1.WAV, which is located in your
FS 5.1/SOUND directory, and rename it to something like JET1.BAK.
Then copy my PROP2.WAV file into the same directory, and rename
         to JET1.WAV.

  6. This aircraft is intended for the enjoyment of flight simmers
everywhere, and is not to be sold or any fee charged for it's use
         without my permission.

As always, I appreciate "constructive" comments and
         suggestions.
