Vé is the third son of the giants Bor and Bestla. Vé was one of the first gods, belonging to the race of the Aesir. He helped to slay the giant Ymir and to create the world with his brothers Odin and Vili.

The three brothers created heaven and earth from the slain body of the giant Ymir and built the twelve realms. They also created Ask and Embla, the first pair of humans.
