Svadilfari was the horse used by the giant Hrimthurs to help build the stone wall around Asgard. He was beguiled away from his work with Hrimthurs by Loki, who was disguised as a mare. When Loki finally returned to Asgard he brought with him the eight-legged horse Sleipnir, which was sired by Svadilfari.
