132 K.V. SUBSTATION MPSEB MORWA
Situated in the middle of Singrauli Coal Fields, It is biggest Interstate EHV Substation of Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board. It supplies power to all coal mines of Northern Coalfields Ltd. in Madhya Pradesh command area and nearby regions.

Introduction to MPSEB

MPSEB is responsible for Generation, Transmission and Distributiion of electricity in all parts of the State. Accordingly, MPSEB is engaged in the activities of construction, operation & maintenance of power stations, transmission system & distribution system in the entire State.

Presently the installed capacity of power generation of MPSEB is 3816 MW which includes 2968 MW of Thermal & 848 MW of Hydel. This capacity is available from 5 Thermal and 8 Hydel Power Stations. Further, the state has a share of 1773 MW in the installed capacity of Central Sector Power Stations.
Presently, the work is under progress on one Thermal project and on 2 Hydel projects which would result in addition of 373 MW to the installed capacity in the State sector.

Due to shortage of funds in the public sector and in line with the policy of Central Govt., the State Govt. and the MPSEB have taken initiative for installation of power stations in the private sector. In this regard, M.O.Us. have been signed with private parties in respect of 17 power projects with a total proposed capacity of 7480 MW. Out of which, power purchase agreements have been signed for 16 projects with a total capacity of 7273 MW. The CEA has cleared the detailed project reports in respect of 13 projects with a total capacity of 5357 MW. The work on these projects would start gradually after concerned parties achieve financial closings for the project.

The spread of Transmission & Distribution system includes 21,333 Ckt. km Extra High Voltage lines, 2,20,162 km HT lines & 3,50,058 km LT lines. Further, there are 411 no. of EHV transformers, 2,462 no. of HT transformers & 168786 no. of LT transformers.

67,970 Villages i.e. 95% of the total villages in the State have been electrified and 12,34,233 no. of agriculture pumps have been energised. The total no. of electricity consumers in the State is about 76.27 lakhs.
