The Art Book 1998
|
mandragora's first project was an art book which was composed in a matter of months in late 1997. i'd say the idea was mostly peter coffin's because he's been doing graphics arts since i've known him. back in the eleventh grade he drew volkswagon beetles and did different lettering spoofs like turning the ford logo into another four letter word. before the book began i thought it was going to be a cheap pad of xeroxed prints. mike was messing around with this xerox machine, stretching and shrinking images, it was really nuts. the final result actually turned out to be much more colorful. i'm not even sure how some of the prints were created. anyways i ended up digitizing some of the images from my last copy in late 2000 and decided to post them. only 100 copies were put together and all were given away as gifts sort of, randomly. so here are the images mixed in with my commentary, inaccurate descriptions, credits and lame ass html code. |
