Dora and Apollas F. Plowman's marriage
license, issued by Livingston County on July 9, 1894, lists Dora as "Mrs.
Dora Williams Myers". According to her obituary, she was born Feb.
20, 1861 in Logan, Illinois and died "at hospital" (I assume that's St.
Marys in Streator) on June 23, 1923. She was buried on June 26th,
1923 with the funeral arranged by "Wagners". Her children were listed
as Chester E. Myers of North Freedom, Mrs. Ruth Franks of Rockford, and
Mrs. Emelia Homey of Emperta Beach, California.
It appears that Dora was the daughter of
Analiza Williams, second wife of John T. Williams. From the dates
involved it's doubtful that Mr. Williams was her father but she may have
taken his last name when her mother married him. John and Analiza
Williams are buried
in Moon Point. |
