Possibly the second non-Native American family to settle in Reading Twp., the name, with logical phonetic spelling variations, is still fairly common in the area.  My research indicates that the name was originally "Bergman".  The Barrackman and Moon families were related by marriage.  More information about the Barrackman family may be found at:
