NIV Have you ever imagined yourself to be at the bottom of the pit with mud and dirt up to your neck and you feel yourself sinking even deeper? Was it a time that finances were low, family was against you and death seemed to be the only way out? Yes, that's how I felt a few years ago before entering the renewal and becoming a new creation in Christ. I dug a hole so deep that it was impossible for me to get out the very situation I created. I owed the banks about 15 million in debts and had borrowed even against my house. One evening alone in the house, I was so depressed that I took my gun and loaded it and contemplated suicide. My problems were overwhelming and had nosolution, I had five thousand in the bank and had a payroll of P50, 000 plus my son was graduating from high school. As I picked up the pistol to check if it was loaded, I heard a voice so clearly say,"Not your will but mine be done." I thought I was going nuts, now I am hearing voices. I paused for a moment and unloaded the pistol and placed it back in its case. The next thing that happened was something I have not done in such a long time, I prayed to God. It had been more than 20 years since I had believed in God. I challenged God and said," If you are the God that can do miracles and wonders, here help me to sell this gun that I may have money for my payroll this weekend." Now I'm really going nuts I am talking to myself. I sat there confused about what had happened and felt funny about the whole thing. Ten minutes had passed and the phone rang. It was a friend and his question almost floored me," Brad, do you know anyone selling a 45? Brad, are you there, did you here me?" I could not believe what I was hearing, was this for real or a dream. I replied," yes I am." He told me not to leave that he would be there in 5 minutes since he was just in the house behind mine. He paid me P60,000 that night. When he left I fell on my knees crying like a baby and thanking the Lord for what he had done. Never again would I challenge God, and never again would I doubt.
