| Charlies Angels: Full Throttle (2003) Rating: 5/10 Review date: June 28, 2003 The Angels (Cameron Diaz as Natalie Cook, Drew Barrymore as Dylan Sanders and Lucy Liu as Alex Munday) return in a sequel three years after the original movie to provide more mindless entertainment. This time their mission is to locate a pair of titanium rings which contain a list of decrypted names for the Witness Protection Program which had fallen into the wrong hands. As can be expected from the original movie, the sequel provides lots of cool action sequences, great costumes and of course, lots of T&A (which is always good) First of all, lets kick off by talking about the plot. Now then what am I to say when there is absolutely no plot to be analyzed in this show? That settles it; let us move on to the acting department now All three Angels dont do much with the exception of throwing corny jokes at each other throughout the show although credits have to be given for lots of T&A and great-looking costumes which I presume should be given to director Joseph McGinty Nichol (also known as McG for short) and the costume designer. The new Bosley played by Bernie Mac doesnt leave any lasting impression, let alone Demi Moore as Madison Lee, the fallen Angel or even Crispin Glover as the Thin Man. There are quite a few cameos in the movie although I only recognize Bruce Willis. Charlies Angels: Full Throttle is an enjoyable movie with lots of over-the-top actions, most of them done with lame CGI animations. This doesnt detract much from the viewing experience since you will be too busy laughing at the cheesiness of it all. I do appreciate McGs excellent choice of music which accompanies the movie because it really reinforces the jovial mood and energetic atmosphere that the Angels constantly radiated throughout by laughing over their silly gags. One issue I dislike from the show is the relationship angle between Natalie, Alex and their respective boyfriends. I find that it slows down the pace of the movie and doesnt serve any purpose at all. For those who loved the original Charlies Angels, it almost certainly guaranteed that they will love this second installment. In fact nothing has changed, there is a new villain, a new plot (oh wait, theres no plot), new soundtrack and new costumes accompanied by the recycled aspects from the first movie. What I would suggest is for you to shut off your brain and just enjoy this movie with your eyes wide open to make sure you dont miss any shots of T&A especially those of Cameron Diazs. But then when you reflect on what you just saw when you came out of theater, you will realize that is it and you just wasted your money which you could have save by renting the VCD when it is released.
