Pennywise from Stephen King's It

Pennywise was the very scary bad guy in this movie.   Below you will find information about that movie and my critique - keep in mind this is my opinion only.  Also I have just included the main characters in my cast - who remembers the others anyway!

Synopsis

This has to be a first for me - being scared of a clown.  But Pennywise just isn't a clown. He's evil absolute.   I could admit here that I happened to have watched this movie by myself in the dark the day it came onto video.  I could admit half way through I *had* to turn the light on because I kept seeing balloons in my peripheral vision.  I could also admit when I went to bed and turned the light off I still kept seeing balloons in my peripheral vision and had to turn the light on once again...and leave it on.  But I'm not going to.  Instead I shall tell you what it's about.  You already know I found it a little scary *cough*.  Anyway, the story goes like this.  A series of murders prompts Mike Hanlon to suspect that the supernatural menace (aka Pennywise the evil, evil clown that kills children) that he and a group of friends battled as children has returned. He begins to call his friends to remind them of the oath they swore which was that if *It* returned again, they would come back to Derry to do battle against it.  Sadly the ending sucked.  Not the whole ending, and not enough to remove all fear from one's body.  But so many movies end up with a type of bloody spider/critter as the creature they do battle with, and this movie was no exception.  This of course was not the same as in the book, which was brilliant.  Kudos to Stephen King.  He really is the Master of Horror (even if he did cry watching Titanic - but  it's ok Stephen, I did too!!!).

Rated: 9.5/10
