Gabriel is the bad guy/angel in these movies. Below you will find information about that movie and my critique - keep in mind this is my opinion only. Also I have just included the main characters in my cast - who remembers the others anyway! -=-The
Prophecy (1995)-=- Directed by:
Synopsis Excellent movie. Detective Thomas Daggett is lacking meaning in his life. He lost his faith and gave up his priesthood and became a police officer. At a crime scene, a thesis on angels in scripture once written by him is found and he is asked for help. They find a dead body who doesn't appear to be human, and a bible chapter which was never supposed to exist. Meanwhile Archangel Gabriel comes to Earth trying to find the darkest soul ever to have existed, so he can use it to conquer Heaven. There is a war between Angels loyal to God and Angels who hate to share his affection with humans. Truly a worthwhile movie to watch. Rated: 9/10
-=-The
Prophecy II (1998)-=- Directed by:
Synopsis Pity they had to do a sequel. The only good thing about this one is that Christopher Walken is in it. It wasn't totally horrid, but it wasn't anywhere near the excellence of the first one. Gabriel returns to Earth to prevent the birth of a child conceived by one of his kind, the Angel Daniel and a human woman. When the Angel Daniel kills members of Gabriel's army of Angels, Gabriel instead employs the assistance of a teenage girl who has just committed suicide. Gabriel keeps her *alive* to assist him in his war against Daniel and the other angels which climaxes in a battle in Eden. Watch it only if you are a Christopher Walken die-hard fan. Rated: 5/10
-=-The
Prophecy III (2000)-=- Directed by:
Synopsis Even if you are a die-hard fan of Christopher Walken, I'm still not sure it's worth watching this movie. Mainly fighting between Zothael and Danyael - with Gabriel sitting on the sidelines unsure of whether or not he should get involved. God has a special place for Danyael - and this in itself is enough to end the war in Heaven once and for all. The ending isn't worth holding your breath for, but then again neither is the rest of the movie. Rated: 3/10
