What it means to be different.....with a lot of fantasy added in.

X-Men is a high action adventure for anyone, even if they have never seen the cartoons and read the comics. This story begins with a meeting of the political minds on whether or not mutants should be registered for all to know they are mutants. We know the stories behind all of the mutants to a certain extent before the movie is over and that helps in putting it together even though you may have never had an X-Men experience before. We are first introduced to a scene from the evil Magneto's childhood. Then we meet Marie "Rogue" who is a teen in Mississippi and her uniqueness to suck the life out of anything she touches. We then get a glimpse of good versus evil when we see a meeting between Magneto and Charles Xavier. Jean Gray steps forward, fighting for mutant rights and the right for them to live without being registered while the Senator is determined to bring the mutant community down. Finally Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is shown fighting his way through life. From there on, various characters are introduced and the viewer is able to get a feel of the characters and what their lives must be like.

Action with a mixture of comedy also helps keep the viewer interested. Wolverine and Cyclops have a lot of tension between them because both of them are in love with Jean Gray. There are some humorous exchanges between them, especially towards the end when they are inside the Statue of Liberty that are hilarious and must see. There also seems to be a special relationship between Logan "Wolverine" and Marie "Rogue". Logan says he is in love with Jean. Rogue's feelings for Logan make you wonder if she thinks of him as a big brother or if maybe he is her "first real crush". It seems he feels for her as a little sister and you can really feel a pull between them. We also see the Senator who is so against the mutants have a change of heart after he is made a mutant. By the end you almost feel sorry for him even though he was cruel. Remember, I said almost.

All in all, this movie was extraordinary. The special effects were excellent and very realistic. The all-star cast helped to boost the movie even more. If you want an incredible action film with an excellent cast, rent this movie tonight! If you have already seen it, you know how great it is! Watch it again!

I rate this movieon a scale of 1 to 10, a 10!

10=This has a permanent place in my video cabinet and my VCR. I can watch it over and over again!
