"He is evil absolute"

The Warlock truly is "evil absolute" from his time and into the future. The film begins in 1691 The priests of the town have captured the Warlock and they want him to confess so his soul will be saved. He refuses. Giles Redfern, a local man whose wife the Warlock had killed. He wanted to see him chained in the cell the day before he was to be hung and burned at the stake. While they are still there, a vortex opens up and sucks the Warlock and Redfern inside. The Warlock lands in Chas and his roommate, Kassandra's living room. They put the Warlock into her room so he can recover.When he awakens, he kills Chas and puts a curse on Kassandra that only demonstrates her worst fear, growing old. She will age 20 years every day until she dies. At first when Redfern comes up, Kassandra does not want to trust him and even calls the police on him. But then she learns the truth. Her curse is the least of her worries. The Warlock is after the Grand Grimwar. The only book that can thwart creation as they know it because it contains the lost name of God. Kassandra and Redfern have to break her curse and find the Warlock before he ends the world!

I saw this movie a long time ago with my sister who was Julian Sands crazy at the time. He did play an excellent Warlock and I was pleased to see him come back again in the second Warlock! My favorite chacter in all of this though was Giles Redfern. He is the man every woman wishes for when it comes to dedication. He fights his urges with Kassandra and only for us to find out he was attracted to her because she reminded him of his lost wife, Marion. The gore was substantial but okay. I really hated the part with the eyeballs though. That was poorly done and looked very fake but hey, I guess we can't expect much since it was the 80's. Everything else seemed to be tastefully done.

The one part in this film that scared me the most was when the Warlock sought the help of a channeler and she had no idea that he was trying to summon the Devil through her. Before she had been a fraud but not she was really channeling a spirit that she did not want. The gruesome face that appears after the Devil appears haunted me for days after I watched that film. It looked so real and I was so impressed with it.
