Charles Brady and his mother have a strange relationship. They are creatures known as sleepwalkers which the movie defined as: Nomadic shape-shifting creatures with human and feline origins. They can be killed by a cat scratch and must feed on pure human beings to live. They move from town to town looking for "fresh meat". Things change for Charles when they move to Travis, Indiana. He meets Tanya Robertson, the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. He tells his mother about her and she is jealous. She makes Charles make love to her even though she is his mother. Charles knows that Tanya is a virgin but he likes her so much that he does not want to make her the sacrifice but the mother insists because she says she is starving to death. So Charles goes after her. Unfortunately for Charles, the police officer that had tried to stop him for speeding recognizes his car and gets there before things go too far. Officer Andy's cat hates Charles and Andy saw Charles's face shape shifting. Will Charles get the sacrifice that his mother needs or die at the hand of the many cats that have flocked to their home since they moved in.

Does this sound kind of boring to you? It was a little bit. Basically his mother needs a virgin girl, he falls in love and doesn't want the mother to have her. The special effects in this movie were so-so. When Charles and his mother would take on their "Sleepwalker face", it was excellent. Not quite terrifying or scary but disturbing. However, there is one part where Charles cuts off the teacher's hand in one scene and the hand looks like fake rubber when it hits the ground. I realize that is probably what it is made of but it looked too fake. Also, the story was a lot better than the movie. It was strange seeing Brian Krause of Charmed fame in this film. He was so young and this was a strange movie for him. He seemed too good looking to play such a role as Charles Brady. Alice Kriege really did not look like his mother either. She looked maybe ten years older than him so it was not very realistic for her to be his mother. I did like the way Charles and his mother could make themselves go invisible and the way they could change the color of Charles's car. Stephen King had a hand in this film because he appeared as the "cemetery keeper" guy who was arguing with the police, but something still seemed lacking. It was not one of the best movies I have ever seen but it was not the worst.
