Angels Vs. Devils
"Raging Angels" is about just that, angels vs. devils. The movie begins with small town rocker, Chris D'Amico getting kicked out of his current band because they say he has a drinking problem, which he does. Six months later, he is clean and sober and living with his girlfriend, Lila Ridgeway. Both have rock n' roll dreams that do not seem to be coming true anytime soon. After nearly being killed at a shootout in the diner where she works, Lila begins to look for another job. Lila then jumps at the chance to audition for Colin Gramercy, head of the Coalition for Unity. Little does she know that Colin is a messenger of Satan, pretending to be of God. She encourages her boyfriend, Chris to do also audition for Colin.
Both audition. Shortly before that Chris's grandmother, who raised him, comes to him with a vision and tells him that Lila is in danger. He doesn't really believe in God and has never believed in his grandmother's strange visions. Lila auditions and makes it. However, after Lila auditions, Colin will not audition anyone else. Lila begins working long nights and Chris is frustrated. He does not like Lila being around Colin and there is just something about Colin that Chris does not like.
Chris's grandmother asks the spiritual advisor, Sister Kate, for help. Sister Kate is reluctant but decides to help her and starts to go to the elderly woman's house. Meanwhile, Chris's grandmother continues to pray for Lila and Chris. A demon attacks her in her home and makes her fall, causing a heart attack. She does not die right away. Kate gets there and Chris's grandmother makes her promise that she will help Chris and Lila. Kate agrees and the grandmother dies.
Chris falls apart after his grandmother dies and starts drinking again. He becomes enraged after he is drunk and sees Colin on television. He destroys the television and a mirror. Lila gets upset and leaves him. He then goes out driving and a demon attacks him, making him crash. Will Chris ever learn to trust God? Can Sister Kate make him see the light? Will he be able to save Lila from the clutches of the evil Colin Gramercy? Watch and see!
This movie was a 90's movie, but the special effects were computer generated. The only problem was that they actually looked computer generated which I hate in a movie. But the whole concept of the movie was great! The overall theme seemed to be that there are forces constantly battling for the souls of all mankind. They are battling all of the time and we just can't see them. Ultimately we have to make a choice: choose Jesus or choose the world. I also loved the fact that the characters had to call on Jesus Christ to help them before great things would happen. Even though the effects were not the greatest, the concepts pulled the movie through. For that, I rate this movie a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10.
