Sometimes dead is better......

The Creed family move to a new town where Louis, a doctor, works at a local college. They have two children Ellie and Gage and their new house is by a busy highway which Gage almost gets killed on the very first day. Their neighbor, Jud Crandall rescues the baby and becomes close friends with Louis. Louis asks Jud about a path behind the house which Jud later tells Louis is the local pet sematary where all of the children that live near that busy road put their dead pets. Jud suggests that Louis get the cat fixed so Ellie won't have to go through that pain. Louis agrees and does. Louis's first day on the job, a student named Victor Pascow is hit by a car while riding his bike. He dies shortly afterwards but not before informing Louis that the ground is sour there and to stay away from the ground He also says he will come back to him. Louis has no idea what the young man is talking about and he dies. He comes back to Louis that night and shows him the ancient Indian burial ground beyond the Pet Sematary and tells him not to go there. However, while Rachel and the kids away, Church, Ellie's cat, is killed on the street. Jud shows him the Indian burial ground and encourages him to bury Church there so he does. When Church comes back, he is an evil mean cat, just the opposite of what he once was. Ellie comes back and is happy to have Church so Louis thinks no more of it. Then his toddler son is killed on the road and Louis remembered what the ground in the Indian land did for Church. Could it do the same for his little boy Gage or would he come back evil too?

This is one of the best Stephen King movies ever made! It had horror and thrills! My favorite character was the little boy Gage and the actor who played him. He was so precious! The scariest scene in the movie to me was when Rachel remembered having to take care of her sick sister. Her sister looked like a character out of a horror movie even before she died and when I first watched that movie when it came out, I had nightmares about her. I shiver just thinking about it. Again this was another Stephen King novel I read before I watched the movie and the book was even more terrifying than the film, especially the graphic way in which Gage Creed died. It was much worse than the movie! It went more by the book than Misery did but it could have very well been too graphic for the theater if it had totally went by the book. There is nothing I would change!
