"You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead."

That is the general theme in this fourth installment of the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series. Kristen Parker is back in her dreams. She is standing before the Thompson house and goes inside. Before she knows it, she is back in the boiler room and she gets scared. She calls her friends Joey and Kincaid, from the last Nightmare flick, into her dream. They are mad and tell her that she shouldn't have done that. Kincaid's dog comes out of nowhere and they all wake up. The next day Kristen goes to pick up her boyfriend Rick Johnson and his sister Alice. Joey and Kincaid catch up with Kristen at school and they tell her to leave things along. If she keeps stirring around in her dreams, she is going to bring Freddy back to life. That same night, Joey and Kincaid are killed in strange deaths. The following night Kristen is killed, but not before Kristen accidentally introduces Alice to Freddy. Kristen leaves Alice her power. But will it be enough to stop the ultimate evil?

Much like the other "Nightmare" films, I enjoyed this one very much. This is the first installment where Freddy starts making funny quotes before he does something. The special effects in this one were also fantastic. I think my favorite part is when Alice goes into the movie screen and ends up at the diner where she is currently working. The woman behind the bar looks like an old gray-haired version of herself and she is hurrying Alice to make an order. She then turns around and walks off and Freddy is sitting beside her. The waitress puts a pizza down in front of them that is covered with meatballs. Freddy eats the one that is Alice's brother and tells her to bring him more and then she wakes up.

There were a couple of small details that bothered me in this film though. For one, they never reveal what the coroner said Kincaid's cause of death was. We see Joey but not Kincaid afterwards. I would have liked to have known what was being said because Kristen had heard a lot of rumors after the day it happened. Why didn't the viewing audience get to hear those same rumors?? Also, I was disappointed that they did not bring back Patricia Arquette to play Kristen. She made a much more convincing Kristen than Tuesday Knight. However, even with those small details, it was an overall great movie!
