One two, Freddy's coming for you.....

The Nightmare on Elm Street Series gets back on track as it enters: "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. It begins with Kristen, a young girl troubled by nightmares and the mother who doesn't understand and it seems she does not want to understand either. She stays up at night and waits for her mother to get home and she tells her she does not want to go to sleep. Her mother dismisses her nightmares and goes on with her date. Kristen follows a little girl on a tricycle into Freddy's house. She tries to escape with her in her arms but finds that she is not there when she is almost out. Freddy slits her wrists and makes it look like she did it herself. Her mother takes her to a mental hospital and they try to calm her down. Kristen starts to sing the Freddy lullaby, "One, two, Freddy's coming for you" and has a scalpel out in front of her. Nancy Thompson from the first Nightmare steps in and finished the rhyme for her. Kristen feels safe with Nancy, who is now a psychiatric graduate student, and falls into her arms. Dr. Neil is the one who is over them and he tells Nancy that the kids in the institution all share a common boogie man and he asks Nancy about the rhyme Kristen was saying. Nancy tells him it is just a rhyme kids say to keep the boogie man away. She meets some of the kids that are going to be in her group at the hospital. First she meets Phillip, a young man with a talent for making puppets and sleepwalking, and Kincaid, a young man with a bad attitude and who spends a lot of time in isolation because of it. After Nancy goes to Kristen's house and sees what Kristen has made in her room, she is sure Freddy is after her and all of those other kids too. She is especially certain after one of the kids are killed at the hospital and the way the murder occurs. Nancy also learns that Kristen has a gift..one that can lead them to victory over Freddy. But can they make it in time?

"A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" is by far my favorite installment of the series of films. Everything is so graphic and descriptive. Plus it deals with one of my favorite subjects: dreams. All of these kids are at the clinic because they share what Neil calls a "common boogie man". It makes sense to me that something else may be going on if more than one kid is dreaming about the same guy but I guess that scientific community doesn't see it that way. My favorite characters in this film were Kristen and Joey because both of them are so strong that they are able to overcome the horrible ordeal that is set before them. Kristen is chosen to lead the group because of her gift and her perserverance. Joey overcomes two obstacles when he conquers his fears in his dream. One of my favorite scenes is the first scene where Freddy kills "The Walker". It is so unique and yet very terrifying with gore. Everything in this film was incredible! I especially enjoyed the fact that Nancy was brought back and she was a part of this since her role in the last film was only one of words. I regret what happens to her but I guess the series needed to move on. Besides that, there is nothing about this film that I would want to change.
