It's only a dream! Or is it?

What can be scarier than dreams? When your dreams become reality or your dreams are reality as Nancy Thompson finds out in "A Nightmare on Elm Street". Nancy is your average teen, but everything starts to change for her when she finds out that her best friend, Tina Gray, has been having nightmares about the same scary guy about whom Nancy has also been dreaming. She asks Nancy, Nancy's boyfriend, Glen Lantz, and her boyfriend, Rod Lane to sleep over and they are glad to oblige. As Glen and Nancy sleep, they are awakened to the sound of Rod and Tina screaming. When Nancy tries to get into the room, the door is locked. Glen breaks it down. Tina's body is shredded and Rod has escaped out of the window. Nancy is in shock and she knows that it was the same man in her dream that did this to Tina. She knows Rod is innocent but he never gets a chance to plead his case in court because he is killed in his cell. Nancy tries coffee, stay awake pills, and even Glen's company to stay awake. Nothing helps. Her mother wants her to sleep and even takes Nancy to a dream clinic where she wakes up screaming with a new streak of white hair in hers , a cut on her arm, and Fred Krueger's hat in her hand. She pulled it out of her dream. Now she knows the secret. Now she can defeat Freddy. But can she defeat him before he kills everyone she loves?

"A Nightmare on Elm Street" was my favorite series of horror movies. I loved all of them except the second one. That one was way off base. As a teen, I watched "Nightmare" movies as they came out the same way people my age would watch Kirk Cameron and Corey Haim. The special effects were always so awesome in Freddy films and he was humerous yet horrific which made him a totally appealing villian. I did not like Heather Langenkamp as Nancy when I first saw the film though. After watching many times though I have realized that no other person could have played this part. Heather IS Nancy! I have two favorite parts in this movie. The first part is a dream Nancy has while she is in her class at school. She is running down the hall and hits the hall monitor, who just happens to have a red and green sweater on. When she turns around, the girl stands up with Freddy's glove on and speaks, "Hey Nancy! No running in the hallway!". I really liked that for some reason. Also, I love the part where Glen "explodes" in his bedroom. It is one of the best horror scenes I have ever seen! I am going to be biased just because I love the Freddy movies but:
