Dirty Harriette.....

Even as a child, Grace Hart never seemed to know that she was a girl. She was tough and never allowed herself to be pushed around. As an adult, she was even worse. Although it did help her get a job in the FBI. At the beginning of the film, Grace messes up a bust and is reprimanded. Then one of the biggest cases concerning a terrorist called "The Citizen" is brought up and Grace is passed over because of her negligence. Instead, the case is to be headed by her friend Matthews. They believe the Citizen will strike at the Miss United States pageant and they want to send in an agent to pose as one of the contestants. Matthews's choice is out because she is on maternity leave. They consider many others and then decide on Grace. She is reluctant but she finally agrees. The head of the pageant, Ms. Morningside, is horrified at the thought of masculine Grace being in her pageant and almost refuses. Finally, for the sake of the safety of her girls, she agrees and recommends that the FBI hire Victor Mellings to help Grace be more of pageant material. Once Victor is through with her and she walks out after the initial makeover, Matthews is shocked to see his partner looking so beautiful. Grace is allowed to enter into the pageant as "Miss New Jersey" and takes classes from Victor at night while at the pageant during the day and trying to find clues if The Citizen is someone within the pageant. There are so many suspects. Who could it be? Someone within the FBI? One of the contestants in the pageant? A former contestant in the pageant?

"Miss Congeniality" is a laugh-filled ride through action-land! Before this movie, I could never imagine that Sandra Bullock could look so masculine in a movie. I just did not think that was possible! Michael Caine portraying the pageant consultant that helps Grace is hilarious in itself. Also the fact that Victor does not exactly find women attractive. Besides Grace, I think my favorite character in the movie was Cheryl Frasier, Miss Rhode Island. Sometimes she seemed smart, but mostly she sounded like a twelve year old talking. It is even laughable when Matthews thinks that Frasier may be a suspect! I don't think her tiny brain could concoct such schemes! The movie as a whole is great, but I think my favorite part is during the pageant when the girls drink Grace's water glasses and she is not able to do her routine. She uses Matthews as an assistant and teaches self-defense which is hilarious! My ride through action-land is over! Go pick this one up!

I rate this film: 8
