A Halloween prank gone wrong......

A bunch of kids bring a literal hell down upon their town because of a stupid prank in the movie "The Midnight Hour". . Phillip Grenville, great great great great great grandson of the town of Pitchford Cove's most famous witch hunter, Nathaniel Grenville, and Melissa Cavender, the great great great great great grandaughter of the town's most famous witch and also later we find out, also a vampire, Lucinda Cavender, are among a group of kids that steal a bunch of town artifacts from the witchcraft museum in town for Halloween. They decide to go to the graveyard to change into their costumes and while they are looking through the trunk they brought with them, they find a scroll with the witch hunter's family crest on it. Melissa insists they open it, much to the chagrin of Phil and she recites the scroll. After it has been recited Phil fears it may be the curse that Lucinda had placed upon the town so many years ago. A curse that will bring death to the living and arise the dead and demons of Hell. Once they realize this, they disappear and get out of the graveyard as quickly as they can. They then seem to think nothing more about it until after their Halloween party has started.

How eventful that something like this would happen on Halloween! What a better time for a bunch of demons to come back from the grave and no one notice. I know its a little cliché, but hey, it works. After they leave the graveyard, strange things begin to happen. Phil meets a girl, Sandy, that is obviously stuck in the 1950's. And after Lucinda arrives at Melissa's party and Melissa joins forces with Lucinda, all Hell begins to break loose. Now its up to Phil and Sandy to save the town. But their time is limited...can they make it before the time limit expires?

I absolutely love the movie, "The Midnight Hour". I practically grew up watching this movie because for consecutive years, this movie came on every Halloween! It's a horror movie and probably the first one I ever watched. I admit it probably does not have the excellent special effects that all of the new movies have, but its got the scare factor and the nice 1980's special effects. It also has a strange ending which I was kind of disappointed with, but that, I can live with. After all, it is a classic and one that I would highly recommend that you see if you have not already.
