"Stop! Stop! He's a schitzo!"

Charlie Baileygates started out his life happy. He meets Layla and marries her. She promises to be with him forever. Then on their wedding day she meets a black midget named Shonte who happens to be in the same field as her and she is so attracted to him. She has children later and has three boys at one time: Jamaal, Lee Harvey, and Shonte Jr. But Charlie denies the fact that they are not his children and treats them like they are his own. Layla shortly after leaves Charlie for Shonte and he is left to take care of the children. He swallows his pain and tries to go on. Because of his pent up rage, he creates an alternate personality who will deal with the conflict in a way that Charlie cannot. Finally he is pushed over the edge when a woman cheats him out of his space in the grocery line and he becomes another person, Hank Evans. Hank embarrasses the woman, tries to drown a kid who was rude to Charlie, gets back at his neighbor and the neighbor's wife for letting the dog poop on his lawn and they take his newspaper, and crashes a "friend's" car through the front of a barber shop amongst other things. The police discover that Charlie has a split personality and he is given medication. He is then assigned to take care of a prisoner Irene Waters as she is brought back to New York. However, the people that he is supposed to be protecting Irene from come after her after she is turned over to the NY cops and she is almost killed. Charlie runs out with her and forgets his medication which leads them on a wild and wacky ride to get Irene away from there and find out who is after her and why!

This movie is pure comedy! Jim Carrey crosses every taboo line possible. I was even shocked and somewhat appalled by the things I saw in this movie the first time I watched it. But once you watch it a second time it kind of grows on you. My absolute favorite part of the whole movie is when Charlie turns into Hank for the first time in the grocery store. I loved him getting back at all of the people who had hurt Charlie for all of those years. Everyone wishes they could do that deep down but they never have the chance, but Charlie did! It was also funny the way the Charlie denied the triplet boys were not his. It is also funny how his sons overuse the "f" word. You wouldn't think that would be funny but just seeing the way they talk to figures in high authority made me want to roll in the floor. This truly was one of Jim Carrey's greatest masterpieces! There is one line I would not have crossed though. There is a scene where Charlie takes the "milk" away from the baby and it is so disgusting! I can't ever watch that part. I have to turn away. But besides that scene, there is not anything else I would have changed.
