"Not much happening in this film, budd-dee"
The movie begins showing us a man being arrested and then shifts to Tommy Collins, who is performing in a strip club owned by his Uncle Sal. Everyone makes the cut for dancers but Tommy and his Uncle Sal tells him to try another profession and sends him home. Tommy still lives at home and is pampered by his mother. However, when Tommy gets jury duty and his mom and her boyfriend go away to Las Vegas, his life starts to change. He goes in looking for a stay in a lengthy trial so he holds out until he finds the trial of Carl Wayne Bishop, an accused murderer. The jury gets stuck in terrible hotel rooms. Tommy tries to get in the same room with hot chick Monica. But he ends up getting stuck with his old principal. When it comes time to vote for a verdict for the jury, Tommy votes not guilty when the others do not. He makes up all kind of excuses why Bishop is not guilty but no one believes it and it causes everyone to have to stay longer.
Parts of this movie were a little funny and others were just plain stupid. I think the funniest part was when Tommy dressed up as Carl Wayne Bishop's girlfriend and went to visit him in prison. Why is it that Pauly Shore feels like he has to show his butt all the time? But aside from that, that part was funny seeing him say, "Say hello to Judge Ito" and going inside of the cell. Then the things that he says to Carl Wayne Bishop and this is also the point when he finds out that Carl may indeed be not guilty.
All in all though, this is not a movie I would really recommend to anyone that is not already a Pauly Shore fan. He can get very annoying. I mean, I liked him when I was a kid growing up watching MTV and stuff but all of that stuff is just not funny anymore, and it seems that he is not either. The movie was boring somewhat and you could figure out who the culprit was before the ending. I have no other choice but to give this movie this rating:
I rate this movie: 3
