Where'd you get those peepers?

Two kids are coming home from college for probably Spring Break, Patricia "Trisha" Jenner and Darius "Darry" Jenner. They are your normal run of the mill brother and sister arguing back and forth. Trisha also seems to have a secret about her boyfriend that she is not willing to tell her brother. Out of nowhere, a truck that looks like it was used in a Rob Zombie video comes up behind them and starts trying to run them off of the road. Darry is driving his sister's car and he is trying to keep them on the road. At the beginning, the two of them were making a game at guessing license plates. The creepy truck's read beatngu, which they read as "beating u". Trisha confides that she was thinking she might die on this road just as two teens did before, Darla and Kenny. They died about 100 miles from there. There bodies were never found, just their car. As they pass a little house out in the woods, they see the truck that tried to run them off the road. He is putting a body-sized bundle, wrapped and tied in a sheet with red stains on it, down what looks like a type of sewer pipe. Darry and Trisha keep on driving and then the creepy truck comes after them again. He rams them in the back a couple of times and runs them off the road. Darry then wants to know what he was trying to hide and talks Trisha into going back and looking down the pipe. Of course, they go back and Darry manages to fall down the pipe. Then they make the most gruesome discovery of a lifetime. As the movie progresses, they learn exactly what the murderer is and specific details and that it is after one of them. But which one and how much time do they have? Can they stop it?

I am a huge horror movie fan and this movie was one of the best I have seen in a very long time. The movie starts out with the two kids talking and it is very quiet then out of nowhere comes the truck and the creepy music. It scares the viewer while it is happening and when it stops, it is quiet again. They also touched on some things that happen in every horror movie. There is a scene at the beginning when Darry is getting in the pipe and he wants his sister to hold his legs so he can look down the hole. She says: "You know the part in scary movies where someone does something stupid and everyone hates them for it? Well, this is it." That truly always does happen in a scary movie. There is always some dumb kid doing something stupid to get himself or a group in trouble or there is usually some beautiful woman running upstairs from a killer. I have never understoodthat myself. If someone is chasing you, why are you going to run upstairs?

There were many great scenes in this movie. I enjoyed the informative parts the most. When the audience found out that it was some sort of creature, it got to eat every 23rd spring, and it ate certain parts of people so that it could maintain itself, we finally found out what this creature was all about. It was also interesting to learn why he was chasing Darry and Patricia. Although the best and most gutsy scene in the whole movie is the ending and the way it was chosen to be ended. I never expected it and I was still disturbed after I turned it off.

If you turn a movie off and you can't stop thinking about it, that constitutes a memorable and excellent movie!

On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this movie a 10

10! One of the best horror pictures ever!
