An evil clown.....

Bill Denbrough lost his kid brother Georgie to a vicious murder when they were just children. Slowly, Bill starts to meet other strong kids with problems of their own: Beverly Marsh, the school janitor's daughter who is abused by her father; Eddie Kasbrak, a young hypochondriacal asthmatic boy who has an overprotective mother; Ben Habscomb, a new boy in their town of Derry who is a little overweight and gets picked on the first day by the town bully; Richie Tozier, the class clown who is only afraid of the Wolf Man; Stan Uris, a Jewish boy scout who only believes in logical things; and Mike Hanlon, also a new boy in Derry who is interested in history. They are the "Lucky 7" or so they call themselves. All of them have been teased and threatened by school bully Henry Bowers and his gang at one time or another. But after Bill's brother Georgie's death, they realize that they have more in common and more than one enemy after them. It, a magical evil being, gets into their heads and preys on their worst fears. It also preys on young children and it has decided that these "Lucky 7" are next. As children, they defeat the monster and they make a promise amongst themselves that if "It" ever came back, they would all come back and defeat it again. Now as adults, everyone has left Derry except Mike Hanlon who became a librarian. He checks out any strange crimes in the area. One murder in particular spurns Mike to call the others back to Derry.

This is a great Stephen King film! Of course, so are all of the films by the Master of Horror! As the Lucky 7 reunite, It starts coming back in their lives. I loved the special effects in this film. One of my favorite parts was when Bill was just a child. It was just after his brother Georgie's death and he picked up an album in his room and looks at a picture of Georgie. The picture winks at him and Bill throws the album on the floor and it starts to bleed. My other favorite part is when Beverly goes back to visit her father's home. However, after she rings the bell, she sees another name where Marsh had been and meets a different woman, Mrs. Kersh. She is embarassed but Mrs. Kersh invites her inside for a glass of tea. They start talking about her father and when Beverly looks down, there is blood in her tea cup. She drops it and the blood goes all over the floor. When she looks up, she sees a decrepid version of her father saying, "I worry about you, Bevy. I worry about you alot." She runs out and when she turns around, the house is all boarded up and she can hear It laughing at her. That's just two of the great scenes you will see if you watch this film. There is constantly something happening and there is never a dull moment. At the end, it even tells what happens to the remaining characters. If you haven't seen this film, I highly recommend it. There is nothing scarier than an evil clown!
