Sure is a funky old house, ain't it?

The story begins with Evelyn Price watching a program about a house that was formerly the Vonnegut Psychiatric Institute. There was a massacre there one time after the doctor experimented on live subjects with no anesthesia. The house was actually a machine and it shut down when the riot began. The patients cut up the surgeons and nurses before setting it on fire. Evelyn, wife of a billionaire theme park scare-man,Steven Price, decides she wants her birthday party there and her husband obliges but also tears up her list of guests. Her husband rewrites the list and then the computer somehow deletes them and selects other names, a choosing which will come into play later. Watson Pritchett brings a set of new people to the house because he thinks they are Evelyn's guests. He has been promised to bring them in for a million dollars and wants his money soon after. Price offers everyone a million a piece if they stay in the house all night and are alive by morning. Of course, he is planning scare tactics of his own, but the house outdoes him and takes him over. He and his wife as well as Pritchard, Donald Blackburn, M.D., Melissa Mars, Celebrity, Eddie Baker, former baseball pro, and Jennifer Jenzen, Executive VP of a movie studio are all stuck in the house for the night. Weird and gory things begin to happen and appear. They all begin if this house actually has a mind of its own when they learn that neither of the Prices ever invited them. Can they make it come the morning light?

This story is pure horror mixed with suspense. You have the gore of a horror movie and the scary tension that goes along with a suspense flick! One of my favorite parts is when Melissa sees the doctor torturing people through her camera and no one else can see him but her. It's like a bad horror flick but its so freaky that it seems real. It was twice as scary on the movie screen! I also liked it at the beginning when the stained glass fell out at the beginning of the movie and almost killed Evelyn. That was kind of spooky. In the movie theater, I found myself on the edge of my seat. I watched this same movie as I worked late in college and was scared to death because I kept hearing noises and I was by myself. It had been a really long time since any movie had scared me that much. So if you are one of those twisted people like me who love being scared, this is your flick! The special effects are great and the tension keeps mounting and never stops!
