"How many times do I have to tell you? You're not God, I am."

Sebastian Caine is onto something. With government funding, he discovered a way to make a subject turn invisible. The hard part was bringing them back. Then late one night, while eating his Twinkies and drinking coffee, he cracked the reversion code and figured out how he thought he could bring back the subject, a laboratory gorilla from invisibility. He wakes all of the scientists on his staff up and they go in to see it happen. But there's a problem. The gorilla's blood pressure crashes and its heart rate went up. But then suddenly, after almost losing the gorilla, it stabilizes and materializes in front of their eyes. It is a grand victory and they have a great celebration.

Sebastian is happy for his gain in the medical field but is still sad. Whether he wants to admit it or not, he misses Linda, his lab assistant, being involved personally in his life. The next day after the celebration, they go before the government review committee who are funding their project and Sebastian lies. He says he has not successfully discovered how to bring a subject back from invisibility without any lasting after effects. Matt, another lab partner, and Linda are both at the meeting but they choose to go along with Sebastian anyway. Sebastian decides that he wants to try the invisibility serum on himself and then let his crew bring him back without the committee approval. They are reluctant but they finally agree to do it.

One problem: Sebastian goes under and is invisible. But the reversion formula doesn't work on a human the way it worked on an animal. They are unable to bring Sebastian back to being visible. After more than ten days, Sebastian becomes edgy and slowly begins to go insane. That's when the action begins.

Overall, this movie has some excellent special effects. It's always nice to watch a movie with computer generated special effects that do not look computer generated. Kevin Bacon excels in this role as a somewhat 'mad scientist' that goes even madder. Also a big plus in the movie was Josh Brolin, who played "the other man", Matthew Kensington. He and Elisabeth Shue made an excellent team in the movie. I think my favorite scene in the movie was when Sebastian kills Dr. Howard Kramer in the pool. That scene was the most realistic computer generated scene I have seen in a while! If you haven't seen this movie yet, I highly recommend it! Kevin Bacon at this best!
