There is no good, there is no evil. Only flesh.....

This film starts off with a different theme than the other two. Kirsty Cotton is only in it on tape. J.P. Monroe is a collector of strange and terrifying art pieces. That is why when his girlfriend, Teri, tells him about a unique piece, he must have it and buys it from a gallery in town: Pinhead's statue of his soul and all of the other souls that he has taken. It shows torture and pain and seems to turn J.P. on. Meanwhile, Joey Summerskill, an up and coming journalist, is haunted...by nightmares. Her father died in Vietnam before she was born and she wished that someone had been there to help him. In her dreams she tries to do just that but she always fails. As her late night news story fails, Joey lets her camaraman leave on another news call. As soon as he does, she sees a story she could have used. A boy is rushed into the hospital bleeding. Hooks have pierced his body and are still lodged in him. The girl with him is crying and asks them to take care of them. Joey tries to find out what happened from the girl but she runs away, only telling Joey that it happened at "The Boiler Room". Joey watches as the boy is pulled apart in front of her eyes in the emergency room and the force sends doctors and nurses flying. She must find out more and eventually catches up with the girl named Teri that was at the hospital that night. She tells Joey about her ex-boyfriend, J.P. and how they just broke up and about the statue. Meanwhile, Pinhead is reawakened to the taste of blood as J.P. was bitten by a rat and slings the blood on the statue. Pinhead is able to take form after he feeds upon one of J.P.'s many conquests in his bedroom. He must have more and makes J.P. say he will bring him more reminding them how they are so alike: both evil. Joey learns about Pinhead and the box and she knows she must stop him. But the people that she cares about are dropping like flies. Does she have the courage to stand up to Pinhead's newest soldiers and to take down the Master of Evil himself?

As always, there is always a lot happening in this movie. Joey is a troubled girl to begin with and it is amazing that she keeps her sanity. Pinhead is even more evil in this film than the other two put together. It seemed that even though they were terrifying, Pinhead and the Cenobites were a balance of good and evil in that they never hurt the innocent in the first two movies. This movie, that changed. Joey did nothing to spurn Pinhead until she was drawn to him by the box. He is after her because of that and uses every trick he can think of to get the box from her.

One thing that I really enjoyed in Hellraiser 3 was that there was an abundance of new monsters after the victims had been killed and Pinhead was able to use them effectively against Joey. The way that they died had a lot to do with the way these monsters were formed and I was totally impressed by the creativity. The best part about them was that they were realistic and believable. If I had been Joey, I don't think I could have been as calm as she was. I would have been terrified and they probably would have killed me.

The only thing that I did not like in this movie was the lack of the original characters. Kirsty Cotton is an important character to why Pinhead is what he is in my opinion and I thought it should have showcased her more as the other films did.

Other than that, I thought this was a great film. The horror and reality of it totally blew me away!
