The nightmare begins again!
The story opens with how Pinhead came to be. Then scenes from the first film are shown to catch the viewer up on what happened during the first film. Once the scenes are over, we see that Kirsty Cotton has been put into a mental hospital once again. The doctors think she is crazy as she tells them tales of demons, murder, and Cenobites. The police detective that is in her room wants the truth and Kirsty tells him, Unfortunately they think she is crazy. Then she hears that she the mattress that Julia died on is actually still around and has not been destroyed. Kirsty goes crazy and tells them they must destroy it. She fears that Julia may be able to come back like Frank did. While still in the hospital, Kirsty has a vision of what appears to be her father and he tells her to help him because he is in hell. She knows that she must help him somehow.
Kirsty meets many people in her quest to help her father and get out of the institution. First she meets the ambitious Dr. Chennard who seems to have more to gain from Kirsty than just the satisfaction of helping her. She also meets Kyle MacRae, a nice young doctor who assists Chennard and "Tiffany", a young mute girl who only puts puzzle together. Kyle believes Kirsty and goes to Chennard's house to check out what she spoke of. He finds out she was right when Chennard resurrects Julia. He hurries and gets Kirsty out. Chennard brings everyone into the picture including Tiffany who he wants to open the box so he can see the "sights" inside. Can Kirsty and Kyle save Tiffany from the Cenobites? Can they stop Julia before it is too late?
There is so much more in this movie that is really interesting and very cool but I cannot reveal it without telling how the story ends. There was actually a little more story than the first one to this film. However, it was still mostly killing. I would have liked to see Tiffany speak her true name. I also would have liked to know more about what happened to her mother. The true killer was never established. If you enjoy bloody horror flicks, this is your film! It is once again, a 10 on the horror scale! Even though it had a few downfalls, I rate this movie: 71/2
