Ox! Nag! Putz! Moron!

More insults to add in this sequel to "Grumpy Old Men". The movie begins with John and Max having a water war over who is going to catch the famed "Catfish Hunter" fish. Then John stops the war when he reminds him that they have a wedding to plan. Max's son and John's daughter are engaged to be married. But Jacob and Melanie (the engaged couple) are already fighting. It seems that they booked the wedding reception at a bar and Melanie is upset. Grandpa Gustafson is still as feisty as ever talking about how the doctors told him he should be dead but he's still alive and then he loses his point he was trying to make. He says that sometimes he thinks God has forgotten about him. Max is lonely after losing Ariel to John and he watches them from next door all of the time. Both of the men are upset, however, when they find out a relative of the former bait shop owner, wants to turn it into a restaurant and they do everything to try to sabotage her. There is only one problem: there is a strange attraction between Maria and Max and they are so much alike in many ways. Will there love have a chance or will tragedy tear them apart?

Grumpier Old Men is filled with twice as many antics as the first one. Max and John are always trying to get one over on the other one. One of my favorite parts in the movie is when Max and John are trying to sabotage Maria's restaurant. I don't know why but I laughed so much at those parts! My other favorite parts are all of them with Burgess Meredith. He cracked me up so bad! It was a shame when he died. This world really lost a great talent. I can still remember watching him as the Penguin on Batman when I was a kid and how he really resembled the character I had always seen in the comics. I think my favorite line that Meredith said in this film was, "Well you can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one gets fuller first." I still use that one! The cast was great as always and the antics kept this film moving! Highly recommended and a classic!

I rate this movie: 10
