Wheeze the Juice!
It begins with cavetimes, a husband and wife being separated as a new age is ushered in. Fast forward to modern times. Dave Morgan is a high school loser who is determined to be popular with his laissez faire friend Stoney Brown. He is in love with senior honey, Robyn Sweeney, who he grew up with but does not have much to do with him now. Dave is determined to have a party on prom night in a pool he is digging in the backyard. During one of the digs, he and Stoney find an ancient Mousterian bowl. An earthquake occurs and they find a big block of ice with a man still inside. He and Stoney attempt to thaw him out but when they come home from school, they only find ice until they go inside. But he has only thawed out. The caveman has went inside and checks out everything including the television. When he is confused and frightened, he goes upstairs and paints Dave's room like a cave and starts trying to make a fire. Dave and Stoney finally get him under control by giving him a lighter. They then clean him up, get some clothes for him, and a haircut. They name him Link and Dave thinks he is the key to their popularity of which Stoney wants none. He just wants to be his friend. Stoney takes him places and buys him tickets to the amusement park and food. They become friends. But will Dave spoil the friendship by exploiting Link? Or will Link get his revenge? What will become of a caveman in a modern world.
This is the first movie where i think Brendan Fraser was probably noticed by most people. There are a lot of funny scenes in this movie. But my favorite part is the whole prom scene at the end. When Robyn chooses Link to be her date, it is kind of surprising considering he really never says anything intelligent. Why would a girl want to be with him besides the fact that he is good looking? Also, Ella seems interested in Link first. Robyn is her best friend and Robyn is the one who goes with Link to the Prom? That just does not make sense. I also love the ending when Link is dancing at the prom and has everyone else doing so. As we all know, Brendan Fraser is a great dancer.
Overall, this is one of my favorite Brendan Fraser movies. There are not many of his movies that i do not like and this one is definitely in the top 5!
I rate this film: 9
