If you're not perfect, you will be!

When Steve Clark and his family moved to Cradle Bay, they wanted a new life. But they were getting more than what they bargained for. The movie begins showing that something is seriously wrong in the town of Cradle Bay. Andy Effkin and his date Mary Jo are kissing in the car. When Mary Jo gets down and dirty on Andy, he breaks her neck. The cops show up and Andy shoots one of them. The other cop takes the gun and tells Andy to go. Unbeknownst to them, there is a young misfit named Gavin on the hill watching everything they are doing. When he thinks its safe, he runs away with his dog. On Steve's first day in school, he sees the different types of attitudes in what is a Blue Ribbon and a non-Blue Ribbon. Dickie Atkinson, a misfit, and a blue ribbon fight in class. Dickie is sent out. At lunch, Gavin Strick and his friend UV introduce Steve to the different classes of people. They become friends. Later that night Dickie is trapped and abducted by the Blue Ribbons and when he comes back to school the next day, he is one of them. Steve meets Rachel who Gavin calls Cooksridge trash and she and Steve like each other immediately. Gavin has a theory that the kids are being brainwashed at the school. Steve is not sure if to believe it but things are getting weirder and weirder at the school. When Gavin is chosen as the next new Blue Ribbon member, he gets scared and gets a gun. Steve takes it away from him because he does not understand what Gavin is scared of and he is scared Gavin will hurt somebody. But the next day when Gavin comes in looking like a Blue Ribbon and acting better than them. Steve believes Gavin's theory. Something is seriously wrong. But who is behind it? Who would want to make a perfect race of children who never get in trouble? How can they be stopped?

I think we rented this movie first and then I bought it later. I got it as a free rental and I was hooked. I had to have it! There were plenty of parts that caught my eye. Why would a professor want to make a perfect race of children who could never have sex and only get good grades. Didn't he realize the social implications if he had done it to the world's children? He could be killing the world. Also, they seemed to short circuit sometimes and it made them crazy. Then they would become violent and they would have to cover up the mess they made. What would have happened had all the "janitors" of the town died. It would have been just one big violent world.

My favorite parts of this movie was when the audience got to see just how crazy this brainwashing made the kids, the shocking parts. Andy Effkin broke his girlfriend's neck when she tried to go down and dirty on him. Laura showed up in Steve's house and wanted to sleep with him but ended up banging her head in the mirror screaming, "Wrong! Bad!" Chug starts trying to kill people in a store when he watches Rachel and gets aroused.My favorite character in this film was the janitor because he was not what he pretended he was and was able to help somewhat in the end.
