Have the time of your life!

The story begins with "Baby" Houseman telling her plans and how much she thought of her father as they are on their way to their summer resort, Kellerman's. Max Kellerman and her father are close and gave them good prices for staying there. Lisa, her sister, is a superficial person. She is always worrying about what she looks like. Baby is the other way around. Baby wants to help change the world by going into the Peace Corp. and her father brags on her all of the time. Later that night, Baby goes up to the main house to look around and sees dance man, Johnny Castle, and his crew as they are arriving at Kellerman's. Max tells Johnny that he cannot romance anyone there and it is an order. She sees Johnny again when he does the mambo inside the resort. She thinks he's wonderful. But Baby is unfortunately stuck with Max's grandson Neil who is a jerk as well as a dork. After being dragged to a magic show by Neil, Baby sneaks off and meets Johnny's cousin Billy who she helps with some watermelons to the staff quarters (which is also forbidden). When she gets there, people are dancing "dirty dancing" and she is shocked. Johnny and Penny later come in and dance and Baby has a chance to dance with Johnny. She does pretty well and totally enjoys herself with him.

The next night, Baby is forced out with Neil once again and she sees Penny crying in a storage room while she is with Neil. Quickly, she ditches Neil and goes to get Johnny. When they are on the way there, she finds out that Penny is pregnant but the baby is not Johnny's like she thought. Penny later tells her it was Robby, the waiter. Robby is also dating Baby's sister, Lisa. Penny wants an abortion and does not have the money, so Baby asks her father and he gives it to her because she is his favorite. Penny is reluctant, but finally takes the money and an appointment is set. Baby agrees to train with Johnny for a performance at the Shelldrake Hotel so Johnny and his staff will not lose any pay. It is after that performance that Johnny and Baby realize their true feelings for one another and that night, all hell begins to break loose.

I remember watching "Dirty Dancing" right after it came out at my best friend's slumber party. It was great and such a good memory to relate to the film! It was after this movie that my shorts and everyone else's starting being cut like Baby's rolled up ones and that every girl dreamed of Patrick Swayze. The dancing, of course, made the movie. My favorite part is when Johnny and Baby are dancing at the Shelldrake and Baby does not do the lift. I loved watching them dance. I won't totally give it away, but Johnny and Baby do dance together again at the very end of the movie and I always cry!:) The end is the best scene of all in the movie! If you haven't seen this, do yourself a favor and pick it up!
