What if?

John Smith and Sarah Bracknell are young teachers in love. Johnny is a bit of a silly man who cares so much for Sarah. He takes her to the carnival one night and they have fun, until Johnny starts feeling strange on a ride. He takes her home and refuses to come in and stay the night with her. She kisses him good night and he is on his way to run head-on into an overturned truck on the highway. When he wakes up, he finds out that he has been in a coma for 5 years at the Wiezak clinic with Dr. Sam Wiezak caring for him. A nurse comes in to check on him and she touches him. When she does, he sees a little girl and calls out her name. He tells her the little girl is trapped in the house and the house is burning. The nurse hurries home only to find out that it is true. After he reveals a second truth to Sam, Sam starts to believe that John is a little psychic. Sarah then comes to see him and tells him about her new husband and son that is 10 months old. She leaves shortly after. Johnny is then retained to help find a killer. Johnny is mad at God and at the world seemingly and refuses for a while. He then accepts. He helps the sheriff find the killer. But then Sarah introduces him to Greg Stillson, running for a political office and they want Johnny to vote for him. When Johnny touches his hand, he sees something terrible. And Johnny is the only one that can fix it.

When I first watched this movie, I hated it. I really like Christopher Walken but there was just something about it I did not like. Now that the series has come out, I watched the movie again this weekend because I am also reading the book now. The series seems to go more alongside the book and I guess that is why I like it so much better than the movie. Also the Johnny in the series looks more like the Johnny described in the book than Walken. Walken does an incredible job playing the part and I still love watching those scenes in the movie where Johnny is having the dreams. However, I wished they would have went closer to the book. When will people learn: the book is better!!
