Wanna play a cool horror game?

Michael Brower has a common obsession: horror movies and horror video games. Although some of the kids at school and the school officials do not see it as such. He has seen every horror movie there is and has played every horror video game...or at least he thought that he had played every horror video game there was. His best friend, Kyle calls him and tells him about a new horror video game called "Brainscan" that is supposed to be the "ultimate in terror". Michael finds that hard to believe and calls to order the video game. However, after just speaking to the person on the phone, they tell them they are sending him the first installment of "Brainscan" and hangs up. Michael is a little flustered but is thrilled when the first installment gets there. The killing in the game is so vivid that it energizes Michael after he comes back out of the game. He thinks it was all fake and goes over to see the girl next door that he has had a crush on, Kimberly Kellar. While he is waiting to see her, he sees news footage about the murder that he performed in the game the night before and all of the details were the same. He freaks. He thought Brainscan was only a game...or is it?

I absolutely love this film! It is scary and gory all at the same time! It even has a little love story mixed in with Michael constantly pursuing his crush, Kimberly. The special effects in this movie are incredible and it kept you guessing all of the way to the end. Personally, this is one of the movies where the end is great, but the body of the movie made it even better! I especially enjoyed the "Trickster". He was evil yet humorous. It was so terrifying that I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and I still was even after the movie was over. One thing that was really strange in the movie though. Michael remembered the first murder and it even seemed like he was doing it and it gave him a rush. The second murder he did not even remember at all. Then after that he goes out on his own and he does it...or does he? Every experience was different for him and you would think they would have all been similar. But then again, that is just a nitpicky little tidbit. There really is nothing that I would change about this movie. If you haven't seen it, go pick it up. This movie, Pet Sematery 2, and Terminator 2 are probably the best films Edward Furlong has ever starred in. You don't wanna miss it.
