Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done

When things start to get out of hand in their city, the McManus Brothers take things into their own hands. Modern day vigilantes, they move quickly and are not caught until they want to be. A big business moves into town and threatens to close down the bar where they hang out. Everyone in the bar including the brothers and their Italian mob friend, errand boy, Rocco, decide to have one more good night in the bar. After all, it is St. Patrick's day. However, the big business turns out to be connected to the Russian mob. Everyone takes on the mobsters in the bar and after the fight, the Russians attack Connor and Murphy at their apartment. They start to take Murphy away and tell Connor they are going to shoot him in the head. Then they handcuff Connor to the toilet. Connor rips the toilet out of the floor and drops it out of his window and onto the Russians. The foul-mouthed bartender (he is quite funny) brings the brothers some of their things in the hospital before they leave and checks to see if they are okay. They give him a bag and ask him to hold onto it. Then they go turn themselves in. They are not charged because technically it was self- defense. So then joined by their friend, Rocco, they begin killing the scum of the earth in their city. No one can pinpoint them. No one can stop them? Will this end? Are they really doing justice? You decide!

I originally rented this movie because Norman Reedus starred in it. I love hearing him speak! He has the smoothest sexiest voice I have ever heard! But that is beside the point. Both he and Flanery did an excellent job portraying the McManus brothers. Flanery's Irish accent was much more effective than Reedus's though. You could really see the connection between the brothers, physical blood ties and the psychic mental ties that they shared. The stunts were cleverly done where it actually looked like the actors were doing their own. The only thing that bothered me was what they did with Dafoe's character and what he actually was besides a "tough guy". If you like action flicks, check this one out! It's awesome!
