A total tough guy film!

Jack Devlin is called back into a form of duty when the life of his friend's daughter is threatened. Bobby Stern owns a casino and will not allow a Russian to buy into it, Kamarev. When he does not, he threatens Bobby's daughter. Jack comes to Stern's place of business and picks up his daughter. The daughter is familliar with him calling him "Uncle Jack". Kamarev's men attack after Jack brings her to her home. After some kind of bomb explodes, white light flashes and Jack is blind. Casey, who has an IQ of 165, helps him defeat the intruders. Shortly after his sight returns, but he cannot look at white without losing his sight again. His friend Bobby and his wife are later killed and they left custody of Casey to Jack who reluctantly takes it. He later hears about a new case with a retired Fed buddy, Tim. His company is protecting this supermodel, Cinder James, from a mad man who is trying to kill her. Tim is shot while trying to protect her and after an attempt is made on Tim's life in the hospital, Jack agrees to help protect Cinder and find the man who is trying to kill her.

One of the main reasons I love Dolph Lundgren films is because of the amount of action in them! It never stops! Blackjack does not fail to please in that department. From the first few scenes, we have action when Jack Devlin steps into the Sterns' casino and Kamarev's men try to stop him. We see the kickboxing that Lundgren is so known for. All the way to the end, the action is non-stop!

I love what was done in the scripting of this movie. The audience got to see the total tough guy side of Jack Devlin, yet we saw the soft side when he was with Casey. It was quite funny to see him trying to balance "Daddy Duty" when Cinder is in the house and he is trying to tend to Casey and Cinder. It was also nice to see the "smart girl" helping her uncle get his job done. One example of this is at the beginning when Jack is first blinded and she helps him defeat the intruders in her house. She is so calm and does not even seem afraid. In fact, the only time you really see her upset is when she is talking about her parents towards the end with Jack and he sees her crying.

The whole love story part of the movie took a different twist than what I expected. I initially thought something would develop between the psychiatrist and Jack but I was naive to think that. We all know who is going to fall in love in this movie, don't we? That was the only thing that kind of disappointed me.

Overall, this was a great movie for a television movie (it was shown on the USA network originally). Definitely an incredible action movie!
