"Strange things are afoot at the Circle K"

Two high school students plan their futures as rock stars but several obstacles are blocking their path to attaining their goal. The first and hardest is school. Both are currently failing history and must make an "A" on the final report to graduate. For most students, this would be an easy task. But Bill and Ted are not like most students. They still think Joan of Arc was Noah's wife and Napoleon was nothing more than a short dead dude. Relating to the school matter, Ted's dad informs him that he will be sending him to Oates Military Academy in Alaska if he fails, which he expects him to do. What can they do to stop these cycles of events?

They can do nothing by themselves. Therefore, a man from the future, Rufus, is sent to help them. They will be of great stature one day and their music will change the world. But in order to do that, they must jump this hurdle of passing school. He brings to them a phone booth in which they can travel the circuits of time. They have one day to learn all the history they can for their reports so they get started quickly. The first place they go is Austria in the year 1805 right after the French have invaded. They inadvertantly take Napoleon back with them and do not realize it until they are already back. Bill and Ted then decide to go back in time and steal historical figures to let them speak in their history report they will present to their class. They figure they are sure to get an "A". But they have a limited amount of time. Can they make it back in time to complete their history report and get the "A" or will they rewrite their bright futures into doomed dreary ones?

I have always loved this movie. It was the first movie I ever saw Keanu Reeves in and I was impressed then. Of course, then I was younger than Bill and Ted and could relate to them. The jokes and surfer language with the historical figures was great. But above all, I think I enjoyed the scenes with Napoleon the best. The Ziggy Piggy ice cream parlor was great as was the waterslides. The bowling scene was the best, especially when he gets mad because it does not go in and Ted's little brother Deacon ditches him.

I can't say I really did not enjoy any part of this movie. It is a little dated but it still rings true: Be excellent to each other and party on dudes!
