This movie begins the wild now trilogy that is Austin Powers. The movie begins with Dr. Evil speaking to his committee of terrorists and crooks. Dr. Evil kills all of his assassins except Mustafa, Frau Farbissina, and Number 2. He then spells out his evil plan. Meanwhile, Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery, is briefed by Basil Exposition of British Intelligence that he is about to be attacked that night at a local club and to be careful. Tonight might be the night that he can capture Dr. Evil. He does attempt the attack at the club and Austin and his partner Mrs. Kensington escape. Dr. Evil freezes himself and his cat in cryogenesis and is blasted off into space inside of a Shoney's Big Boy. Austin also decides to let himself be frozen so that if Dr. Evil ever came back, he would be able to help capture him. The government revives him and he is paired up with Mrs. Kensington's grown daughter, Vanessa. He regains all of his personal effects, his suit, Burt Bacharach album, and a Swedish-made penis enlarger. He and Vanessa leave in his jumbo jet and he tries to put the moves on him but she seems to find him repulsive. Next up, Dr. Evil is introduced to his so-called artificially created son, Scott who wants nothing to do with his father. Vanessa and Austin go to Las Vegas to try to catch Dr. Evil and they meet Number 2 and Alotta Fagina. But they don't find out Dr. Evil's plan in time: to steal a nuclear warhead. Can Austin and Vanessa stop him in time?

This is an incredibly funny movie! There are so many great scenes that it is hard to choose the favorites. One of my favorites is the scene with Tom Arnold in the bathroom. Austin is using the bathroom and Patty O'Brien, the Lucky Charms killer, tries to strangle him. He is struggling and Arnold thinks that he is straining to "do #2". The whole scene is hilarious and Tom Arnold just adds to it! I guess if I had to choose one more favorite part it would be when the Fembots are unleashes on Austin. He ends up stripping down to his British flag "knickers" and blowing their heads off with his sex appeal. He is then dancing to "I touch myself" as Vanessa runs by and sees him! That part also sent me into fits of laughter! All in all, this is an incredible comedy movie. There are not too many inconsistencies yet except for the fact that everyone else aged after Austin was unfrozen except Mrs. Kensington. She just had one gray streak through her hair. There are probably some others but I can't think of them right now. If you love Mike Myers movies and have not seen it yet, you need to!

I rate this film: 8
