In a Nutshell: Neat concept, revolting execution.

Quick Plot: Four childhood friends gain supernatural powers after helping a classmate in school. Many moons later, these powers are put to the test when the earth is invaded by aliens.

In Detail: Icky. Just icky. The method of the alien reproduction is positively revolting, and it made it quite difficult for me to finish the movie. Not that it bothered me to the point I couldn't watch, but it was just so gratuitously gory that I lost interest and almost stopped it. I wonder why in god's name Morgan Freeman is in this-he must have had some bills to pay. There are some really neat plot points to it (thanks to the brilliant albeit twisted mind of Stephen King), but the way the story progresses is frustrating.

Scare Factor: The gross-out factor is at its max, even if it's not too scary. There's some squirming, some yelling at the characters, but I was never truly terrified.

Will I Buy It? No, no, no, no, no.
