Eleven year-old Unn has just moved to a remote village in Norway to live with her aunt after her mother dies. She is befriended by Siss, also 11. One evening, the two share a strange experience in Unn's room. They next day, Unn slips into an ice cave on her way to school. Siss is now left to deal with her feelings alone.
