Well, this week's movie review won't take that long to talk about because I still don't understand the movie. "Pink Floyd The Wall"...such a strange movie, I don't know how else to explain it. Basically it's about the first lead singer of Pink Floyd who I think ended up killing himself, but the movie is about how he feels he doesn't belong in the world. The entire movie has less than 20 seconds of dialogue in it...which made me angry because I like dialogue in movies...I don't know, that's just me. The movie starts out with the lead singer guy as a little kid. His mom doesn't spend any time with him, so when he goes to the park, he latches on to some other kid's dad, who eventually tells him to go away (2 of the 20 seconds of dialogue). Then the movie progresses and the kid becomes a teenager, then he becomes an adult, and then he gets depressed and shaves off all the hair on his head, chest, and even his eyebrows. Yes that's right, his eyebrows. Then it flashes to a concert that he's in, without his hair, and he looks like a Nazi. Very weird. There are also random cartoons, like this one of two flowers that I'm not going to get into, and this other one of hammers that are marching...I really don't know what was going on in these filmmaker's heads. I mean, I really don't know enough about Pink Floyd or that lead singer to make any criticisms, but you seriously need to be high in order to watch this movie. There are also some very inappropriate scenes in the movie that involve the singer's wife and a man that she's having an affair with. Not going to get into that either. Oh, I don't know if I said this at the beginning or not (I guess I could just scroll up to see if I did or not but I'm to lazy to), but the entire movie is to the songs of Pink Floyd, so the movie is basically a bunch of music videos strung together. But it's not that because it's supposed to follow the life of that lead singer dude. I really don't feel like talking about this movie anymore because it just makes me angry. If you really want to talk about this movie, talk to either Paul, who liked the movie, or Ben, who, like me, hated the movie. That's it. I'm done. Good-bye. |
