Review:
Tim: Honesty moment. While I watched this movie, I was engaged in some work on my computer, and I barely paid attention to it. I never, ever do that, so I knew I had to come clean here. While I did not give this film the attention it deserves, I still followed it enough to feel confident to voice an opinion o it. Even though I was quite distracted, I liked this movie. It was beautifully shot, concerned an importance, controversial, political topic, and featured a strong cast giving good performances. I can't comment on too many intricate details of the film, but even distracted, I found myself entertained and as interested as possible, concerning the circumstances.
George Clooney was very good in the role. He gained a great deal of weight, and with that huge beard, was very interesting to watch. He gives a soldi, if somewhat un-George-Clooney like performance, and the Academy awarded him with a deserved Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (even though he was kind of the lead actor). Matt Damon provides good support work in a smaller role. I am amazed at his ability to carry a movie like The Bourne Identity, and then turn around and play the support role here or in Ocean's Eleven. This is a remarkable talent, and should pay off handsomely for him.
I do feel guilty for not giving this movie 100% of my attention, but I have been reviewing movies for a long time, and I have seen so many, that I really do know what I'm talking about. I'll see this movie again and update this review, but for now, feel confident that this is agood movie, and you will like it.
