Our Project
Where will the branding stop?
Our project was form of presentation art involving religion and the Walt Disney Corporation.  We compiled a sermon, which my fellow group member David presented during the middle of a class day at Tate Plaza on the University of Georgia campus.

So what was this sermon all about?

David preached the word of Disney.  We used multiple parallels to common religous terms  in our sermon such as God and Jesus being represented by "Uncle Disney."  The Bible;  a catalog of Disney products. The "Disney Communion," pieces of "Disney Princess Cereal" and grape juice distributed in "Lion King" cups.  "Hakuna Matata" was used in replace of the very significant term, "Amen."  Finally, the place where you will live after death or should we say, after retirement.  No, not heaven, but Celebration, FL.  These terms were used throughout our sermon as students passed by and took interest.  We also handed out cards stating our mission and invited people to come and hear the word of "Uncle Disney."  Remember, "Uncle Disney" does not judge.  We even had a few indiviudals come up and recieve the "Disney Communion" which tells us, maybe Disney has a shot in the religoius lifestyle.

The purpose of the "Disney Sermon" was to present a living example of how far the brand can go.  I feel we successfully fulfilled that goal.

We discoverd a superbrand such as Disney can  incorporate consumerism into every aspect of our daily life.  It begins at the products they produce and slowly encompasses our very well being through television, movies, and now religion!!  Our "Disney Sermon"  was a symbolic representation of what the future has in store for us as the superbrand grows beyond our absolute control.
